Description: This 1897 film, produced by the Thomas A. Edison Company, is found in the American Memory Project series, "America at Work, America at Leisure: Motion Pictures from 1894 to 1915." The 25-second film depicts a horse race at Sheepshead Bay Race Track at Coney Island in New York. The American Memory Project is sponsored by the Library of Congress.
