Title: Moving Along with Simple Machines

Description: This site is a four week integrated unit on simple machines. Students will explore them, find out their purpose, and "be able to apply what they learn to their everyday life." Site includes the introduction and overview, content background, student preparation, performance standards, content maps, content outline, performance tasks, rubrics for the performance tasks, the instructional activities, needed materials and resources, and additional Web links. Students will be asked to construct a ride or attraction for an amusement park and a mini society, pretend that they are going to the bank to get a loan for the needed materials for their project, and develop advertising and music.
